My Favourite Christmas Song

It wasn't quite a Christmas Number One, although it did top the charts prior to the big day, but it does seem to feature on nearly every Christmas album ever.

Frankie Goes to Hollywood's The Power of Love is a song I've always had a soft spot for.  The Penelope Pitstop imagery probably caught my imagination back when I was ten but it was also an amazing follow up to those two initial and controversial singles, Relax and Two Tribes, showing that this was a band that were capable of other things besides dividing the Nation.

It isn't particularly Christmasy in itself but the video, directed by Godley and Creme, is a rather odd nativity thing.  It is, however, despite awful video a bloody lovely song.  Enjoy.

  3. It's amazing, until you started your lists of songs I had no idea how much of my musical taste is tied up with you.

I guess we learnt a lot together
